Body Area Network

What is a “Body Area Network” (BAN)?

A Body Area Network consists of one or more micro mobile intercommunicating sensors that are integrated into small wearable and unobtrusive fashion such as a Band-aid (“smart band aid”), wrist-bands, Bluetooth scales, glucose monitors etc, which monitor vital body parameters and movements. These sensors, communicating through wireless technologies, transmit data from the patient’s body to a virtual cloud, from where the data can be forwarded to a hospital, clinic or elsewhere on the planet in real-time.
